5of12: A May 2017 Playlist

A strange month where not everything connected and I discovered some late April drops that dominated. As a result I amended last month's playlist, and resorted to some filler here. The curveballs continue.

Take Haim's "Right Now" for example, a song first released in April via an irresistible in-studio music video. The song itself didn't hit Spotify til May. And is it any wonder that the recorded version isn't quite as powerful as the live (right), or that my monthly boundaries continue to be tested by the amorphic nature of 21st century music release?

I had to remind myself of the mission statement here: to chronicle my favorite music, month by month. The parameters are arbitrary so long as I stay true to what's new and moves me.
